Taking a camera to a concert?

I'm going to a concert tommorow in London, and i'm wondering whether to take my Nikon D5000 DSLR camera that cost £500? I've never been to a concert before but really want to take some photographs. Should i risk it? I wouldn't be anywhere near the front. Thank-you

Added (1). It's a you me at six and the blackout concert. So there will be moshing, circle pits etc. At the front

As long as you don't use your flash, you should be fine. A small camera that you can put away quickly is best.

Well what kind of concert is it… In a stadium or well on the grass… If you want good pics definitely take it.

If yourr willing to risk it breaking or getting lost you can take it but if your really careful you should be fine
