Sony Alpha SLT-A33 vs Nikon D3100?

I'm getting one of these for Christmas this year and I was wondering which should i get! I want the D3100 but my only concern is that reviews of the focus being LOUD while record video! And it doesn't have a External Mic input!

Nikon makes a great camera, but don't buy into the hype… The Sony SLTs compete well with the Nikon mid-range SLRs and are far superior for video. The Sonys have in camera stabilization and an extensive choice of lenses. People are amazed at the pics and video that I get with my A33. Flickr (for pics) and Vimeo (for video) can be searched by camera and you can get a good idea of real life performance looking at those sites.
