I've had this camera for years, and there's one thing i've ALWAYS struggled with, and thats the flash. I don't know if its the camera, or if i need to get a bigger flash but when I use it on anyone, it makes them look TERRRIBLE! Does anyone else have this problem? Also, i'm thinking about getting a new one soon, Is nikon the way to go?
i'm thinking about the nikon d5100, does anyone have any feedback on that?

Added (1). Reply to first post: Thats funny, because I know how to operate my camera JUST fine. I'm a photographer and have been doing pictures for years, thank you. The only thing that confuses me is the flash, it makes them look pale and their eyes look demonic. Therefore, I just do not use it. I've used flashes on other cameras, and theirs works just fine. I don't know what the deal with mine is.

Sounds like you don't know how to operate the Sony to being with so buying another DLSR may not be a wise choice. You can buy an external/bigger flash for taking pictures in darker environment. What about the flash makes people look TERRIBLE? Are their faces to bright? Red eye? Poor focusing? Try going back to manual and see if you have some settings wrong on the camera.

Check your settings, turn on red eye reduction or use photoshop or corel paint pro to edit the pictures to what you believe is accurate. A true photographer knows the power of editing.
