Sony a58 or Nikon D3100?
I'm torn between these two cameras in my prize range.
Which one should i get?
Can you help me out?
Added (1). *price
I'm with Martin, but add the Canon EOS 1200D (Rebel T5) and Pentax K-500.
You'll know which one is right for you as soon as you pick it up.
Do you *really* not know the difference between a prize and price?
If you care about video buy the Sony, which is the only real advantage that one has over the other.
If it's for stills then try them both out in a store and see which fits your hands best and which controls and layout works best for you.
This tool lists the advantages of each camera. Look them over and see if anything is important to you.

In your price range, I would consider the Nikon D5100 and Canon T3i.
Generally, I have had better luck with Sony cameras. The Sony is about three years newer than the Nikon and offers better features; yet one would have to compare ease of use and visible picture quality to be sure.

I would take the Sony over the Nikon.
Either or. Both can give you post card quality photos if you take the time to learn how to use it.
