SD card reformated by mistake?

I have a Nikon D80 and reformated my SDcard by mistake. Those this camera save images on the camera, meaning is there a way to get the photographs directly from the camera?

Nope. Formatting eliminates everything from the card, that's the purpose of formatting to clean and clear it of all data.

The Nikon D80, like all Nikon DSLR's does not save images to the camera, as there's no internal memory. I've had and used a Nikon D50, D70, D200, and D300 and have never found any images saved without a memory card.
Your one hope is to use a memory card reader and memory recovery software to try and recover your images. Try some of the free programs here.

If the camera has internal memory as you suggest then plug the camera straight into the pc and transfer that way
