Professional camera investment
I want a professional camera like a nikon D60, but I don't know which kind would be the best for what i want to do with it. Which camera do you guys think would be the best for:
Taking action shots w/min blur
My age (15)
under $400 if possible
All I can say is I know a few professional photographers they would all scream if they heard you wanted to get a nikon…
1. The D60 is not a professional DSLR, the D3 is. (That's just about the categorising, the D60 is a fine camera).
2. Practically any SLR will do what you want to do, the lens is what you should be asking about. It depends what kind of action you're talking about. What actions you want to shoot (how close you can get to the action) will tell what focal length you need. It will also tell how much light you can expect to be working with (and what kind of depth of field will be useable) which will tell you what maximum aperture you need and the ISO range you'll need to work with.
If by "professional camera" you mean DSLR, virtually any camera will do what you're looking for. The determining factor will be the lens. You need to invest in a fast lens to get good action shots.
Unfortunately, there are no DSLRs on the market for under $400 unless you go used. If you're just starting to get into DSLR photography, buying used is a bad idea as you can easily get ripped off.
Sorry. But good luck!
