Problems with my Nikon D7000?

This morning I changed the lens for the first time and when looking through the viewfinder, I could see everything fine and the autofocus and everything worked, but when I took a picture, it was black. I presumed it was the lens, so I swapped back to my old lens, but the same thing happened. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Try puting it in auto and take a pic then if it works then your settings are meses up and tnext is your shutter working

Did you take the lens cap off?

anyway, most likely it is user error. Perhaps you accidentally flipped the dial to manual mode and are severely underexposing the picture. Put your camera on auto and take a picture in sunlight.
