Pro' Photographers, Nikonians

I'm looking forward to buy a new lens for my Nikon DX format D7000. Now I've come across the new 50mm f/1.8 G which will be available here in a few weeks. Uhh, has anyone tried it yet? How do you think about it? Is it worth the price or do you think the old 50mm f/1.8 D lens is better?
I heard some people say that the 50mm f/1.8 D can focus quicker than the 50mm f/1.8 G. Is it true?

I answered this 50mm f/1.8G for a D7000 question just yesterday:
My conclusion: if you have the cash for a 50mm f/1.8G, spend it on a used 50mm f/1.4D instead.
Regarding the AF speed, I don't think there are tests yet for the 1.8D vs. G. It is true that the old 50mm f/1.4D is a tiny bit faster than the f/1.4G.
