Pictures is blurr in my new nikon d90?
Hi
I have bought a new Nikon D90 and I'm new on taking pictures. This is the first time I bought a DSLR camera and use it. For my work I need a professional camera. So I decided to buy a DSLR one like D90.
I have not changed the sittings of the camera but when I try to shot a text or insect it is blurring. The 12 Mega pixels is not working. I see blurry pictures in the screen of the camera.
The second thing is which lens is better for insects from a far. I'm working in plant protection and every day I have reports include a lot of pictures (most are insects). Before I was using a normal digital camera but my manager said that all my pictures is under 300 dpi. So how to make that?
If you see blurry image in the screen nor viewfinder you are probably trying to focus too close. If small objects such as text or insects are important to you you will need to buy a macro lens. Any camera can be 'professional' in the right hands, so get some local instruction on how to handle that camera - an hour of 'hands-on' will be worth more than keeping on asking questions at long distance. You need to check the settings, the camera is probably set on 'medium resolution and quality, set it to high in each case to get the best out of the 12MP, but even at 'medium' you should get good results with normal scenes, not extreme close-ups. At 'high' settings the file sizes will be bigger, thus fill up your camera card and your computer memory more quickly. That camera will normally save at 300 dpi, so no worries there. You obviously have little experience in using advanced cameras, so I urge you to get local instruction from someone who really knows the business.
For insects you need something like the Tamron 90mm Macro or Sigma 105mm Macro. This will enbale you to stand further back but also focus in nice and close. Anything shorter and you will risk disturbing the insect.
