I just entered photography club in school and teacher make a competition. I'm a n00b at photography. I use Nikon D80 lens 18-135mm.Ok my question is: what picture should I take? *suitable with my lens* sorry my grammar is really bad.

Take something that makes you unique from everyone else. Where people will remember that picture instead of "Oh it's just another sidewalk, or plant."

Be creative.

First off, learn how to use your camera properly. I don't see why a "noob" at photography would have a DSLR. Learn to get the right exposure, contrast.etc and get the right image quality, or else it'll be painful to look at your photos.

Find out the rules of competition, and learn the theme. Try taking photos that are also interesting, and are different form what other people would enter. Don't take a regular sunset photo.Change it a bit ; maybe angle it differently, or add something into the sunset… Maybe a bird, watching the sunset.

Get opinions on here, on which photo you should enter. Don't just take one, and decide to enter it. Take photos of anything that has to do with your theme, and take a lot of photos in different angles. Then, eliminate some, get opinions on here and perhaps upload them to Flickr and add them to a photography critiquing groups.

I found that this is a really good guide you should try, too:
