Photographers, do you suggest Nikon or Canon?

I was planning on ordering either a Nikon D90 or a Canon Powershot around Thanksgiving. If you suggest any other great brands, let me know.

Canon n nikon both r best brands but why you r comparing a nikon dslr with a point & shot
i'll suggest don't go with d90 its old now, go for new one nikon d7000
or canon 60d

Canon powershot is not a DSLR. D90 is. The differences are huge, and a DSLR is always better than even the best powershot camera.

Nikon D90 is at the same level as EOS 60D.

And recommending a brand is useless. I say Canon, someone below me says Nikon. That's not helpful at all right? That's because both brands are equally great, otherwise one wouldn't even compete with the other.
