Nikon SLR Cameras

Panasonic Lumix, Sony Cybershot OR Canon Powershot?

I'm looking to buy a new digital compact camera. I currently own a Nikon D3000 DSLR so I'm relatively familiar with photography and cameras and such.

I mainly want a digital compact one for taking pictures at parties/events, and I also want to use it for portraits, action shots and creative/landscape photography.

The main features I'm interested in is the lens quality, production of clear, crisp images, relatively good battery life and good features on the camera.

If any of my 3 mentioned fit these specifications and are all round good cameras, please let me know which is the best!

It sounds to me as if you have all those already with the Nikon.

Panasonic makes many fine products but they're not a camera company. Cameras are a money making side line.

Sony came into the consumer market a relatively short time ago and their gear is not field tested over time.

Canon is the only one you listed that has been at this for decades and knows exactly what they're doing. To me, the choice is clear.

I take it that you want a compact camera that does it all. The Canon S95 fills the bill. Recommended.
