It depends upon which brand you want to be married to for the next few decades.
It seems that Sony is leaving the dSLR arena and are moving into the EVIL and smaller type fully adjustable cameras with interchangeable lenses.
Nikon and Canon are the two most popular dSLR brands and account for the most cameras and lenses sold to professionals
