Nikon UK Repair Service?

Okay so I've had my Nikon D90 for around 5 months, and its been working amazingly well for me, although just recently I've noticed green stuck pixels and its become rather annoying. So I called up my Local Jessops store where I bought it from and they said to bring it in, showed them the defect and the guy took the body to send to Nikon for repair (also logging the condition of the D90 body on a label/tag ) stating it as superb as new condition, which it is.

What I'm worried about is, is the camera going to come back in superb as new condition like I have kept it? Or have others experienced horror stories with this kind of thing in terms of Nikon Repairs. Or could the body get scratched to death?

You do tend to see it on the TV how some of these (not all) tech repair centres operate and the customers product usually ends up being in a worser condition/state than when it initially arrived or the issue has not been fixed whatsoever.

I wouldn't even be that worried about the dead sensor pixels if it had been lets say a £300-£400 DSLR, but when your paying almost £1, 000 for something out of my hard earned money and (me being 19 I saved up a while to get it ) it is rather annoying.

If you have had the camera for less than a year then Jessops are doing exactly what they should. The fact that they have recorded the condition of your camera is good.

Don't worry about the camera, Nikon are a professional company and have dealt with pro equipment day in day out since the early 60's. They wouldn't be the mainstay of Fleet Street photographers if the servicing was shabby.

You can cure hot pixels in some if not all Nikon DSLR's by following a process. You will find it if you search 'cure hot pixels for Nikon D3100' or whatever model it is. I cured one on my D40.

Be aware of software downloads. I'm not sure I would want third party code in my camera.
