Nikon or Canon with lenses?

I think Canon has better lenses, but I can't be sure. I'm trying to decide between the Canon 60/7d and the Nikon d7000. The Nikon has a little bit better image quality with it's bigger DX sensor, but if I get a really expensive canon lens will it kinda balance out? Please don't ell me to get which camera I prefer. I'm fine with both. Just answer the lens question. Thanks! I'm also hearing rumors of Canon's new midranged cameras being anounced this August so should I wait to buy these and see if the prices will drop or get the new ones (which we have no idea about them performancewise or if they'll even come out.) they have the entry level t4i, then the 5d mk.iii, and now the 1d-x. Hopefully they'll come out with the new midranged cameras. It's been a while. I need build quality. I'm not rough on cameras but I have big hands so I'll need a bigger body which is why I'm looking at those three cameras that I listed earlier.

What makes you think that Canon lenses are better than Nikkor's?
All the Canon USM lenses are ultra fast focus lenses
All the Nikon AF-S lenses are ultra fast focus lenses.
The best quality Canon lenses are "L" lenses.
The best quality Nikon lenses are "ED" lenses.
Nikon has a unique lens coating called Nano-Crystal coating and they provide the best resistance to ghosting and flaring.

After you have spent some time researching the lenses and checking out the sensor performance of the various Nikon and Canon cameras, you should have a good idea of which you will buy.

Every lens is better or worse on a case-by-case basis, not All lenses from one company are better than All the lenses from the other.
There's no answer to your question.
"Who makes a better engine, BMW or Mercedes?"-well, what model are you talking about?

This question can't be answered in generality.
If you take Nikon and Canon lenses as a whole then you won't get a cigarette paper between them on performance.
But looking at equivalents one by one then sometimes Canon will be a lttle better, other times Nikon will pip Canon to the post.
You need to decide up-front which specific lenses you intend to buy and compare those lenses. If you want 4 lenses and it comes out 4-0 to Nikon or Canon then you have an easy choice - if it is 2-2 then you have a dilemma.
Best look at an odd number of lenses:-)
