Nikon L820 alternatives?

I'm searching for a USS 200 camera for general use. Some web pages like http://www.photographyblog.com/ said that L820 is far superior to others in the same price range but I read some comments saying that the L820 sucks, I'd like to know which other camera is recommendable with similar specs.
Thanks.
Added (1). About d3200… Right now I'm searching for a point and shot, maybe later I'll go for a dslr.

How about D3200

The Fujifilm SL 300.
Canon and Sony competitors generally don't have viewfinders, although unlike the Nikon they have manual controls - the Fujifilm has both.
While Nikon make some excellent cameras, they also make unmitigated carp like the L-series (it wouldn't let me use the word I wanted to).
