Nikon DSLR Durability?

Brily Jo
Brily Jo

Um… I'm gonna go straight forward…
i've done a lot of bad things to my dslr (nikon D3100) like hitting the lens in the focus ring (was taking a picture then hit the focus ring to the wall), Forgot to turn off the camera for a long time and when to remove the battery, and a lot of things to…
i just want to ask if a Dslr is durable enough for everyday accidents…

Added (1). So… There's no hope for my nikon then? Based on the answers bellow… :'

Depends on wich ones

They will take the odd knock from time to time, but it's better to look after the camera. The D3100 isn't the most robust of Nikon's line, so I wouldn't be testing how it stands up, you might find you'll test to destruction.

Like anything else - it depends on the respect you show your equipment, how accident prone you are and how well the batch was built…

it will last only as long as it will last… Treat it with more respect…

Y do you think there's no hope for your cam?

The focus ring thing prolly affected the lens more than the cam unless you hit it hard enuff 2 damage the mount or knock somethin loose inside. Forgetting 2 turn the cam off just makes your battery run outta juice sooner.

It's durable enuff 2 take a few bumps, but you've gotta b more careful if you want it to last a long time. Don't do something stupid like try 2 give it a bath or nething like that… It's common sense rly…
