Nikon D80 white balance

My Nikon D80 won't let me change my white balance for some reason. When I try to, it says that I can't change it due to the settings I have on already. I have no idea what to do. I already tried resetting it by pushing the 2 buttons on top with the green dots along side them. Anyone know what I should do?

I don't shoot Nikon so I don't know if this is a possibility, however, if you are in a full programmable mode, you may not have access to the manual white balance. Check that and if it's in full auto, change to something like aperture priority and try it again.

You have too many features set to "auto"

Set the camera to manual and start from there.

You will have to learn to trust your cameras light meter and use it when you take shots

Do you have the user manual?

If not, you can download one from http://www.nikonusa.com/...epage.page

Take your mode dial off Auto, and turn it to 'P'. You should then be able to set manual white balance settings.
