Ok i've had my Nikon D80 for alomost 4 years and i'm still figuring it out (pitifull i know but i'm 15 give me a break) So my question is, how how i turn the monitor on so when I'm taking a picture i just look at the screen instead of the view finder? Also anyone know how to work the hands free picture taking? It came with a little remote for that i just haven't figured out how to work it. Also any tips in general for it would be nice.

Taking a photo from the screen instead of the viewfinder is a feature called "live view". The D80 does not have it. But frankly, unless you're using the camera on a tripod in a way that makes using the viewfinder uncomfortable, i don't see much use for it anyway. Using a DSLR handheld in live view mode is not good practice.

In order to use the remote you need to switch the camera to remote shutter release mode. Near the top screen there are several buttons. One says "AF". The one above that one has a self timer and a remote symbol above it. Hold it and rotate the thumb dial until the top screen shows a remote symbol. Then you can trigger the shutter with your remote.

The D80 doesn't have live view. Live view is fine for toy cameras, difficult to use with DSLRs due to their weight.
