Nikon D80.info covering pics on playback

Alright I know jack about photography but have a nikon d80 and somehow it now shows an obnoxious info screen over all the images I take… I press the play button to see pics and It says info such as
Camera
merering
shutter
aperture
etc

All usefull stuff but I want to be able to see my effing pics… Help?

Have you read your owner's manual? If not, why not? All details will be there.

Just hit down on the directional pad while in playback mode until it disappears.

If you have played around with your camera a bit more, you would find that simply rotating the sub command dial, or pressing the up/down buttons on the control pad would get rid of the info screen thats covering your photos.
