Nikon d7000 focus issues?

I know that the Nikon D7000 had these focus issues before. I just want to know if those problems only existed in the nikon d7000 first generations and I won't have any of these problems if I go ahead and buy it now.

The only time I have had such an issue was when I was trying to auto-focus in a very dark environment and had forgotten to have my focus assist lamp activated, or in the heat of the moment, forgot to set my focus point on my subject. And the lens did its job and focused where I told it to focus, not where I wanted it to focus

Don't believe everything you read, especially if it can't be verified or substantiated.
