Nikon D60 taking dark pictures?
I've had my nikon for a while now, and I haven't used it for a few months until now. When I take pictures they come up very dark, even if I'm in a well lit or bright room. I've tried fiddling with the settings, changing the image quality, the white balance. Nothing seems to work. I'm not exactly an expert on my camera but can someone give me advice on what I could do?
Try going into your camera's menu and finding the "Reset" option to revert all your settings to factory default. Then set your camera on Automatic mode and see if things have improved. If not, your camera (or possibly your lens) needs the attention of a repair center.
If your camera isn't on Auto or Program (P) mode, put it there.
Also, check your exposure compensation setting. See page 67 in your manual. It should be set to zero.
Your photos are under exposed, and if you do not know what you are doing, "fiddling" with settings will not help. For instance, image quality and white balance have nothing to do with exposure. You are going to have to do as already said and try the camera in Auto mode and be sure the exposure compensation dial is set to 0. It sounds like you are way overdue to read and study your camera owner's manual. It is a total waste of the DSLR to try to use it without proper basic photography knowledge.
Here is a book that would help you to learn and use the camera properly.

Set camera to Auto mode, lowest ISO, Auto White Balance, AF on the shoot a bright colored car parked under the sun. If that does not come out right, take your camera to the service center.
I'm having the same problem- have tried adjusting exposure compensation, tried changing ISO, manually set the exposure and ISO nothing is working. Something not right somewhere.
