Nikon d5100 Is it good?

Is this a good slr camera and why? I just mainly want to take good pictures not getting into anything crazy serious just want to take nice pictures.

Yes! It's a great camera for anyone. The quality is awesome and has a ton of settings for any kind of lighting or setting you can imagine and will last a long time. I highly recommend it.

Yes the D5100 is good, if it wouldnt be you wouldnt even hear about it.

Nice pictures; you can take them, but only if you will learn how to operate the camera. There's a manual, internet and libraries!

Compared to D90 it has less noise, higher ISO, better video, but smaller body and no top LCD screen.

For cost consideration and video capability, I will get the D5100 instead of D90.It's nice one. For other reasons, I will get the D90.
