Nikon D5100 Camera was stolen what can I do to find it?
I was looking on craigslist today. And I came across a listing which kinda made me feel iffy about it. This listing only includes the camera with the neckstrap and battery and 16 mp sd card. All that was on my camera when it was stolen. A family member stole it from me and sold it. Since then I have had no luck its been a month since it has been missing. I have everything that goes with the camera besides the few things I listed that were stolen along with the camera. What can I do to find this camera and is it possible to find it?
Never gonna find your dirty pics sorry.
Nothing I assume you didn't call the police.
How would you ever prove a camera was yours unless you had it inscribed on the camera in some capacity? Most come with neckstraps and even a starter card so unless the fool who stole it was to stupid to throw away the card or at least erase it you would never prove the camera was yours, end of story.
As an aside I have some very very expensive glass for my cameras and expensive cameras and they are all engraved with ID numbers. Which might give me a little edge but not so much unless it was a really dumb criminal.
Report the information to the police department, including the Craigslist listing, and leave it to them. If you have already reported it to your insurance, you are covered and are finished with the matter. Let them do their job, and maybe they could trap the seller, and at least arrest the thief.
BUT
Chances are it is only a coincidence
