Nikon D5000 shutter won't work?

My camera is making noise while I'm pushing the shutter, could it be stuck in movie mode? If so how do I get it out of movie mode? I have tried resetting the camera

These cameras are rated at 100, 000 shutter count so I can't believe the shutter is broken.
Check some things. Make sure, in the menus, that you aren't in shutter lock - your manual will explain. You say you've reset the camera to factory default settings?
Pull the battery for about 5 minutes and give the camera a chance to reboot, just like a computer from time to time these devices can become confused.
Also pull the lens, camera off, and look inside. If you see the mirror it's in the correct position.
Barring all of these contact Nikon.

Look on page 218 of your user manual.
If all else fails, read the instruction manual
