Nikon D5000 Photoshoot tips?

I'm about to do a photoshoot with some friends today, and i just want some advice like What poses should i do with my camera? What settings should i use on my camera? Ideas?

You could always try taking TECHNICALLY good photos that show you know what you are doing with a camera…
but that is doubtful…
put everything on auto and just click the shutter release like it is going out of fashion… You might get something…

It's not about your camera as much as your lens, we need details. Use the Aperture mode and set it on a 3.5 if youre using the kit lens, or whatever is the prime aperture for your lens. Also, try to click pictures in a well lit location so you can use it at ISO 100. DO NOT use the internal flash.
