I left my users manual at home and I forgot what buttons to press. Can you help?

If you want to record video on the D3100, first engage Live-View with the toggle on the back (and top-right of the screen) and then push the red button in the middle of the Live-View toggle to start video recording instantly.
Remember to keep the shutter button half-pressed for continuous autofocus.
