Nikon D3100 video feature?

Nikon D3100 video feature?
I was wondering does the nikon d3100 only store 10 minutes of video or does it only film 10 minutes of video per one recording? I'm planning to buy and I need to know the video specs.

If it only stores 10 minutes of video can this be improved by a different memory card?

That's 10 minutes per recording, this is due to the sensor over heating as DSLR cameras aren't designed for video.
You can store up to 2 hours of video on an 8GB memory card when recording at 720p. Just all your recordings can only be 10 minutes long.

That's correct, sensor heat is the problem. All those electrons passing around create friction and therefore heat.
Editing is the answer. By the way these cameras don't do "film", they do video. Film is in Hollywood.
No a larger card won't change that. But a faster card is also necessary, Class 10 is the fastest out there and works very well in my t1i. If you have a slow card the camera will stop after about
30-seconds.

They use more than film in the Movie Industry. And yes other cards will store more memory. They're sorta cheap. Try a different memory card.

It doesn't matter with the Memory card. It can record only 10 minutes of video per recording. You have to start a new video recording every 10 minutes.
If you are really looking for longer video recordings then try in Canon. It gives you 29 min 59 secs of video per recording. In Canon you can check 550D aka T2i.
