Nikon D3100 Slow exposure?

I'd like to ask, if the Nikon d3100 has the slow exposure function. And if so. Is it for a limited time or until i let down of the trigger?
I've heard you can get an MC-DC2 to get bulb mode.
But I'm not sure if it's true. Could you please let me know?

All DSLR cameras have a bulb setting that allows you to keep the shutter open for as long as you keep the shutter button pressed.

All dSLRs have a Bulb mode that keeps the shutter open for as long as you want.

The answer is yes. D3100 has a manual and shutter priority mode. You should see a dial on top of your camera that has different selections. Because I can tell that you have not had a manual mode experience yet, I would suggest switching that dial to shutter priority. You can then turn the other dial to change the shutter speed depending on how fast or slow you want it to be.
