I have a Nikon D3100 with the Stock Lens. (18-55mm)

I'm a beginner with Photography

Today i'm supposed to take pictures at an Indoor Basketball Game (100% indoor light)

What settings should I use for the game. I will be in the sidelines taking pictures.

i want to get nice clear, not blurry pictures.

what can i do to not make it look nice when teh player shoot?

You can start with 1/500 shutter speed, all the aperture you have (the lowest) and set your ISO to
3200. Give that a try and adjust as you need to.

Set the ISO to 3200

Get a reading of the light on the court using your cameras light meter with the lens wide open.

Switch to manual mode and use the same shutter speed indicated by your light meter.

In order to reduce blur caused by player movement, you need to be sure that your cameras shutter speed is set to at least 1/500th second, 1/640th second would be better

It is important to make sure that you have your white balance set to the lighting in the gym. Usually 3130 Kelvin works well.

If you shoot in RAW, you will have more control when you process the images. Lightroom 3 has a brilliant noise reduction tool
