Nikon D3100 bundle deal?
I'm going to buy a Nikon D3100 off of Amazon.com The bundle deal I was looking at seemed pretty nice to, great for the amazingly cheap price as well. Can you tell me if it is actually a good deal? Anywhere else that has a better deal? I want the Nikon D3100, the 18-55mm lens and 70-300mm for sure. And do you know if this bundle in particular comes with the Nikon neck strap? Thanks so much.
I'm not going to say you are getting gypped on this bundle, but it is not a real great deal. You have to be careful with bundles like this as often they fill it up with junk. While the camera will be the same, the lenses and other accessories might have less quality.
The 70-300mm lens is a 3rd party Tamron lens (not Nikon), and Vivitar filters are so cheap they are useless. The Tamron lens doesn't have Vibration Reduction (The Nikon 55-300mm does), if that is important to you.
Nikon periodically bundles that camera and the Nikon 55-300mm lens and gives you a discount.
Sometimes Best Buy has similar bundles, but they are often overpriced.
The neck strap is a standard accessory packed in the Nikon 3100.
