Costco t2i bundle vs Nikon d5100?
I'm torn between an amazing t2i costco bundle that includes everything for $949.99 and the new nikon d5100 with 18-55mm lens from Amazon for $880.95. I can't resist the the brilliant canon bundle but then again the nikon shows a lot of promise with 4 fps and great video mode.

Any suggestions to make this choice less painful?

The Canon will still give you better manual control over video and audio in the T2i with full manual exposure control when shooting. The Nikon uses a great sensor though with great photographic results. The Nikon D5100 is a very small body camera so if you have small hands or want a more portable camera, you may love the feel a bit more. The canon, though still small, is slightly larger and may feel more comfortable to those used to dslr cameras. It will unfortunately still be a painful choice though.

BHPhoto does have the Canon T3i kit which is a step up on a huge sale for $899 including $400 worth of magic bullet editing software for free.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/753762-REG/Canon_5169B003_EOS_Rebel_T3i_Digital.html

Might help make a decision easier for you.

Canon AF not available during Video mode. Nikon D5100 supports only DX lenses and FX AF-S lenses, Canon 550D / T2i offers Full HD recording at 30fps and 720p recording at 60fps, Nikon limited to 30fps only.

I have been going back and forth for weeks between the same ones you are. Pluses and minuses for both. HOWEVER, when i was at my local costco I inquired about new DSLR product availability because for weeks now they have had ZERO dslr cameras in the store. They looked on the computer and showed the Nikon d5100 with the 18-55 lens in the system but no available date yet (nor a price listed). That solidified it for me… Simply because they typically bundle it or add extras plus the fact it has an automatic extension of the manufacturers warranty. So I'm waiting… I ultimately decided I want the body and a basic lens to get started and will then add a more durable Tamron lens down the road. Good luck and let me know if you start seeing the Nikon at Costco.
