Nikon D3000 built in flash not working?

I have a Nikon D3000 and it's a little over a year old and I've taken amazing care of it.
I haven't dropped it or anything either.
The built in flash isn't working, I was using it and it was working just fine then all of a sudden it stopped.

The flash will pop up but when I click the shutter button the flash doesn't respond and the camera acts as if the flash hasn't even popping up and tries to pop it up again even though it's already popped up. So I guess the camera doesn't recognize the flash is up. I'm not sure what to do.
The flash is in TTL mode and everything, it just won't work and the camera doesn't even realize the flash is popped up.

Could be something as simple as a broken wire internally. Seek a pro for repair.

I know exactly what is wrong with it. I fix cameras and when I worked for a large camera repair company I ran across this problem a lot. Inside the built in flash is a hinge that has a contact point. When the flash is triggered and pops up, this contact point is supposed to connect with it's counterpart and tell the camera that the flash is up and ready to fire. After daily use this can flip off of the hinge and make it so the contact doesn't touch the other end. This is why your camera always thinks the flash is stuck down. With the proper tools this is an easy repair, but for the average consumer it is semi-dangerous. If you remove the built in flash hood, you can easily shock yourself quite badly, so I don't recommend trying to repair this yourself. But if you send it into a camera repair company, they will fix it for you for a small fee. I hope this answers your question and if you have any further questions about this or any other cameras, please don't hesitate to ask.

Just to show you I know what I'm talking about, I'm pretty sure if you put your camera in "Auto Mode" (green camera icon) and try and auto focus (press and hold the shutter button down only half way) in a dark/dimly lit area, the flash should pop up, continue clicking, then stop and give you an error "Err". Turn the camera off then back on to reset the camera. If not, I could just be thinking of a different
