Nikon Camera with Lens?

Hey guys i just bought a Nikon D3000 camera body with a 18-55mm VR Lens on Ebay… Will this lens be ok taking nice pictures close up at a little league game? I'm told i should buy a 18 to 70mm lens but i really don't want to spend the money right now looks like they run around 200.00 thanks

You have to be close to take close up photos with that lens. Maybe five feet away… You'd be better off with a 28-200mm, and even then it has it's limitations.

I would sell the kit lens and buy something that can take longer pictures like a 250mm possibly, the kit lenses is ok for just taking pics but i would buy a bigger lense
