New Photography lenses?

I have a Nikon D3000.
I was wondering what lens would be great for taking photos of models? (a crisp, sharp, and clear image)
and macro shots. And would you recommend getting a nikon shutter remote?

The 24-70 f/2.8 zoom is popular for model photography.

A somewhat less expensive lens that is also popular is the 24-85 f/2.8-4.0.It only gives up a stop at full zoom and it's a lotlighter and easier to handle for some people. It's over $1, 000 cheaper, too.

You can get kind of close with either lens, but for macro shots, you would be happier with a macro lens. The cheapest Nikon macro that will autofocus with your camera is this 85mm AF-S DX lens:

Nikon makes a 60mm f2.8 af-s lens that can do both.
A shutter remote makes sense if you shoot a lot from a tripod
