My Nikon d3200 says my card can't be read & might be damaged?
Yesterday my camera was working fine but today I tried using it and once I turned it on it read "this memory card can't be used. Card may be damaged" so I went to go buy another fresh new memory card and its saying the same thing?! Is my camera broken?! I just got it a month ago. Let me know please I'm so bummed!
The first question is this.
* did you format the card before you used it?
* are you in the habit of copying all your images to your computer at the end of each shooting day?
* after all the images are safely on the computer are you then formatting the card again.
These are the steps you need to use routinely.
And NO your camera is NOT broken. Maybe the card is no good… This happens, but if you routinely format your card, this should not happen to you again.
It is usually a good idea to have at least two memory cards and keep them under 4 gb so that you do not get lazy and forget to copy all your images to your computer and having the possibility of losing images if your card does become corrupt
