My Nikon D3000, problem?

sunny

I can't see through my lensfinder, and if its set on auto focus, it won't take a picture. I took off my lens, and noticed that the mirror is stuck up. And whenever i take a photo, it gets back up. Please help me! This is my only camera, and i would be so so sad without it.

Did you lock up the cameras mirror?

Take the lens off your camera. You should see the mirror laying at a 45% angle, covering the shutter of the camera. If you can see the shutter, then the mirror is locked up.

When was the last time you read your user manual?

I have The Nikon D50, so I'm not familiar with your menu settings, but there should be one for mirror lock.

On my camera, I press menu, go to the wrench and I can find a setting for mirror lock. When I click on that, there are two options: Yes and No.

This should work with yours.
