My computer not detecting the nikon d3100 card?

I bought the new nikon d3100 and trying to upload photos thru inserting card on SD slot of my Dell laptop but its not detecting whereas its detecting the other cards, please help me to upload the photos.

Interesting, I had the same problem on my Dell laptop.

Most of us regulars here use and recommend usb card readers for upload. They're not expensive and are available where ever cameras are sold. I've used them for years and they're not only good but reliable.

I had a similar issue with my SD card reader. Heres what I did: (Assuming you are running windows.)

Open start menu and type "device manager" in the start menu.
Locate the device from the list. Right click, Update Driver.
Restart Computer.

If this doesn't work try searching Drivermax in google and install the software. Run the driver check and update all the drivers from there.

Of course, it may just be an issue with your SD card.

It seems that for some reason your "auto play" feature is turned off.

However you can do what most of us do and that is to use the file manager on your computer and once open, just copy the files on the memory card to your computer
