Memory card for my Nikon D40?

Wanna buy a memory card for my Nikon D40. What are the compatible formats and brands?

SD or SDHC any brand

Buy a Sandisk or Transcend SDHC card (class 4 speed) will be just fine.
Transcend is cheaper but equally capable like sandisk IMHO.
D40 does not do video, but can produce burst mode shots, so a faster card could help free memory for continuous fast shooting.

I personally use Sandisk, but any reputable manufacturer will make an ok SD card. Also, SDHC cards (anything above 4GB) can be used with the D40.
If you really want, you can buy a Nikon-own card, but it doesn't make a difference.
You shouldn't need anything above a Class 3 card, as your buffer memory will not be able to work faster than that.
