Manual mode on nikon d3000?

How do I change the apperture and shuttet speed on manual mode? I'm doing a course since the 22 of april and we haven't been introduced the basic commands of the camera, only rule of thirds and focus etc… I'm trying to take a shot of a droplet of water falling into a glass!

To be fair about this, you really do need to read the manual for the camera, if you don't have the manual, then please download it. You'll discover a whole lot more your camera can do too.
In manual mode you change the shutter speed by turning the control dial on the rear of the camera at the top right hand corner. To alter the aperture do the same while pressing down the small button that is behind and to the right of the shutter release.

Read the manual. If you don't have the manual, get one from the Nikon website.
