Making an indie film with Nikon d7000- How should I set up the audio?
I want to make a full length film with D7000, what audio equipment will I need and how should I set it up?
Well, you will first need a good microphone. It will need to use 3.5mm jack instead of the standard banana jack or XLR connection. There are adapters available if the microphone does not come with one. You will also need a windscreen for the microphone. One can be made out of a thick sock. You will also need a boom ( basically a long pole so you can hold the mic out of shot while recording the action. Obviously, enough cable will be needed to string the boom mic. I would recommend to go here to learn about DSLR filmaking

A short lesson in terms. It's going to be pretty difficult to make a "film" with a digital camera since they don't shoot "film", they record video. Film is in Hollywood.
Sennheizer has an excellent line of microphones.
