Macrophoto with nikon d3100 standard 18-55 lens?
As stated above is there any way to shoot macro-photos with a standard 18-55 lens. I saw a video suggesting flipping my lens around, but mine won't work as it just tells me my lens is not attached. When I get very close to my subject I can't even take the picture. I'm attempting to use manual settings to do this and I understand that my success will be limited, although I want what settings will optimize my success.
Yes if you add electronically coupled closeup extensions.
The lens you have has a closest focus of 0.9 ft. (0.28m), so it seems that 1) you did not know that or 2) are new using a fully adjustable camera and did not know to look that specification up before attempting to shoot macro shots
The other is to buy a set of diopters that screw onto the front of your lens. They produce vignetting and softness around the edges of your images if you do not stop down a couple of stops
