Looking for a new nikon camera?

I'm looking for a proffesional camera but I've never had one before. I had the D3000 in mind. What would be some good ones for a beginner?

The D3000 is indeed a good camera, pretty much any DSLR will be good. If you have any more money, the D3100 would be better, or Canon EOS XS and T3, instead of the D3000 which is quite old now.
