Looking for a lens for Nikon d3000?

I'm not sure of the correct terminology, I have a Nikon d3000 which takes awesome photos but I'm looking for a lens that can shot or zoom as far as across a basketball court. Where can I find a reasonable one?

You're already in the dSLR world. Stop thinking about zoom. It's all in the focal length.

Try the AFS Nikkor 55-200mm VR or Nikkor 55-300mm VR.
With DSLR cameras, you want to think in terms of focal length (mm), and not zoom.
