Lens recommendations for the Nikon D7000?

So recently I've decided on the D7000 but the big question now is; which lenses? This is my first transition to such a high-grade camera. I'd really love it if you guys can recommend me some great lenses.

The only thing I would recommend is stay away from the cheap knock off, 3rd party lenses. We're beginning to see issues (I have a Tamron with issues and I won't buy another one). Stick with the
genuine article - Nikkor lenses.

Jim is right on the money, but allow me to add.
You need to figure out what YOU want to shoot. I can suggest fisheye's that have much less use then an 85mm portrait. I can suggest massive 1500mm megatelephoto lenses that cost an arm and a leg.
what do you want to shoot? Macro? Sports? Glamour?

+1 for staying with Nikkor, except for one thing: Tokina makes fantastic wide angle lenses, like the 11-16mm f2.8 and the 12-24mm f4, which is also brilliant.
Here's the setup I have for my D90:
Tokina 12-24mm f4 wide zoom
Nikkor DX AF-S 35mm f1.8 fast 'normal'
Nikkor AF-D 50mm f1.8 fast mid-tele
Nikkor AF-D 105mm f2.8 Micro (Macro and Tele)
I'm currently saving for an AF-D 300mm f4
If I were to change anything, it would be to get the 11-16mm f2.8 instead of the 12-24, but it came out just after I bought the 12-24.
Of course, the lenses you get depends on your photography. Since you are just starting out, I'd get the 35mm f1.8 and the 55-200 f4-5.6 VR. They are both cheap and great lenses.

If you're know what you're doing well enough to get a D7000, then you should know what kind of lenses you'll need as well. If you don't… Well maybe. Just maybe the D7000 is a little too advanced for you. The lenses you go for really depends on two things: 1) the subject you shoot 2) your budget.
For general, everyday use, the AFS Nikkor 18-200mm is a really good lens.
You may also want to consider the AFS Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G for use in low light.

Forget that Nikkor stuff, get yourself a Zeiss 50mm F1.4. Actually, I'm just kidding, high end Nikkors are fantastic but I just prefer Zeiss. In my opinion, I think everybody needs just a few lenses in reality. Two or three high end primes, a quality zoom, and a macro really is all you need. But of course, it all depends on what kind of photography you want to do.

The Nikon D700 will work with virtually every lens Nikon has made since the 1950's. My suggestion:
Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Lens- Really good for landscape shots $797.95
Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX ED VR Nikkor Wide-Angle Telephoto Zoom Lens $619.95
Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras $329.00
