Is this Lens good for Sports?

Thanks for your guys help, especialiiy photoface.
i plan on getting a D5100
it's either one of the following lenses to buy:
Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF ($1100)
or
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom ($1400)
the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S is just way to much money for me
which one of the 2 lenses should i buy for indoor sports and outdoor low light fast sports?

Sounds like you've been shopping on amazon, they have a batch of the old 80-200. That lens has no motor and therefore does not focus on your camera.
Keh has a motorized 80-200.http://www.keh.com/camera/Nikon-Autofocus-Zoom-Lenses/1/sku-NA079990341140?r=FE

The 70-200 VR is very popular. Maybe there's a decent used piece out there.
I use the 28-300 VR on my D300 for Motorsports and Iove it. It's not as fast a lens, but the higher ISO performance lets me get away with a faster shutter speed.

The Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S is the best for the conditions you want to use it for because it has vibration reduction (VR). But the real answer is obvious as $1400 is "just way to much money".

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom ($1400) would be my choice.
