Is there an adapter for my kalimar lens on a Nikon body?
So I was rummaging through my attic and I found my dads old film camera and he had this Kalimar 50 mm lens. I was wondering if there's an adapter for that specific lens on a DSLR Nikon ( D3000)
And if there's could you attach a couple links. I tried looking it up but I don't know what to look for.
Thanks so much!
Added (1). It was on an Olympus OM 10 if that helps.
What camera mount was it designed to be used? Kalimar lenses were generic lenses made for many different camera mounting systems.
You do know that your entry level D3000 can only use AF-S lenses, right?
While you can use Nikkor AF lenses (the older Nikkor lenses without internal auto-focus motors), they need to be manually focused. Lenses like the old Kalimar 50 mm does not have the necessary CPU needed to "talk" to your cameras light meter.
That specific lens was made with different mounts. Identify the mount it has on right now before you can find the correct adapter for it.
- I just bought a Nikon 50mm f1.2 lens. I have heard/seen people say I will need an adapter for it, why and what adapter?
