Is the video recording of the Nikon D3100 any good?
I'm looking to an entry level camera dslr. I might be getting the Sony a390 because it is similar to the nikon but i want to know if the recording for the d3100 is worth the extra money. I'm not really big on filming so should i go with the sony and later on get a cam corder or the all in one nikon. My bday is coming up on the 26th or March and turning 15 so its good to know before hand what to get.
Yes its a good camera
Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera
* 14.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor;
* 3-inch monitor with One-Touch Live View shooting and movie capture
* Full 1080p HD Cinematic Video with full-time autofocus and sound
* Easy-To-Use Nikon Guide Mode with intuitive controls and on-board assistance
The a390 is a great entry level camera for people beginning getting into DSLRs for still photos. For candid filming I would get a DSLR that has video instead of getting a camcorder later. Its just cheaper to get it all in one. Though the Nikon d3100 has good video its full time autofocus tends to hunt a lot and it could be a bit annoying when filming compared to a camcorder.
May I suggest for filming and still photography the Sony a33.It has the best continuous autofocus in video that doesn't hunt whilst filming so its perfect for candid videos and it has a lot of great attractive features for still photography such as HDR, panoramic mode, hand held twilight and it shoots at 7 frames per second. I highly recommend that camera instead.
- Should shutter speed match frame rate when recording video with a Nikon Z6? Or any camera for that matter?
- How many minutes of video can a 16 GB card hold in 1080p video recording camera?
- I recently bought the Canon Rebel T6 (1300D) DSLR for recording my videos for YouTube and it always stopped recording around 11 to 12 minute?
- Can I lengthen the Nikon D3100's Video Recording length?
- Can the Nikon D3100 take still images while recording a video?
