Is the NixonD40X a good camera?

I was looking through photos and I really liked the ones taken with the Nixon D40X
I was just wondering if it was a good camera my types of photography and for a beginner?

I really like that camera. It's lacking some features that some newer cameras have, as it's around 5-6 years old now… But I still have it and use it very often.

You've posted in the camcorders category - please be aware that the D40X doesn't do video.

Anyway, for photos, it's great - it allows you plenty of control over the image, plenty of manual settings, and a decent auto mode. As you learn, you can easily experiment with the more advanced controls.

Not sure about the price - it's just the body, no lens - and that body does have some scuffs and scratches, if you read the description. I'd think twice, but again, this seller does appear to be quite reputable.

All of that aside, assuming everything works, and assuming you have a lens to match up to it, the camera is a good camera.
