I wana get a camera adapter for my nikon d50 to my telescope.what do i need?
I want to take pics of stars and constellations but don't know what i need to adapt the 2 together. I have an orion telescope.
If its constellations I assume you mean piggy back photography? --->
Get some kind of ball mount, bolt it on somehow --> http://www.filmtools.com/ballheads.html
Make a mount out of a 2x4 ---> http://www.astronomyhints.com/piggyback.html
Buy something fancy like this --> http://www.skiesunlimited.net/index.php?ProductID=385
Your best bet is to bring your camera and telescope back to the telescope store. They will advise you exactly how to get it done and if you're lucky, they'll sell to you exactly what you need.
I'm thinking T-mounts but that may only be half of the solution.
Connect the camera to the telescope by inserting the T-adapter into the focuser. Tighten the restraining screw on the focuser to secure the camera. Attach the camera's strap to the telescope in case the T-adapter slips out of the focuser.
